Agreement
By using moderntraumatherapy.com you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. The site is operated by Modern Trauma & EMDR Counseling (Stacey Damkohler).
This is not emergency care
This website is not monitored around the clock and is not for crises. If you or someone else is in immediate danger or thinking about suicide, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or call 911. Do not wait for an email reply.
Who we can see
In-person sessions are offered at 501 Faulconer Dr, Suite 2C, Charlottesville, VA 22903. Telehealth is offered to people who are physically located in New Jersey, Virginia, or North Carolina during the session. Licensing does not follow you into other states. It is your responsibility to be in a licensed state at the time of a telehealth appointment.
Booking and fees
Scheduling, insurance verification, and payment for sessions run through Headway. A free 15-minute consult is available to see whether working together is a fit; it is not a therapy session and does not create an ongoing treatment relationship by itself.
Using the site does not guarantee an appointment, a particular clinician availability, or a specific clinical result. Insurance coverage and your cost are confirmed in Headway before you start, when you use insurance.
No medical or legal advice on these pages
Articles, FAQs, and descriptions of EMDR on this site are general information. They are not a diagnosis, a treatment plan, or a substitute for meeting with a licensed clinician. Therapy begins only after intake and consent.
Your use of the site
Do not misuse the site, attempt to break into it, scrape it in a way that harms the service, or post or send unlawful, threatening, or harassing content through the contact channels listed here.
Intellectual property
The name, logo, copy, and design of this website belong to Modern Trauma & EMDR Counseling unless otherwise noted. You may not copy them for commercial use without written permission. You may share a link to a page.
Third-party services
Links to Headway, YouTube, Google Maps, and other sites are provided for convenience. Their terms and privacy policies apply when you leave this site. We are not responsible for those services.
Limitation of liability
The website is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for damages that come only from using or being unable to use this public website (for example, a page being temporarily down). This does not limit any rights you have related to professional clinical care under applicable law.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
